Canada is one of the countries in North America.  It consists of ten provinces and three territories.  It shares the longest common border in the world with the United States in the south. Canada's official language is English and French.  It has a population of approximately thirty five million as of 2016 (Wikipedia).

Canada is one the world's most developed nations.  It has a strong economy, which allows people to enjoy relatively high living standards. Due to continued strong economic growth and aging population, Canada is experiencing labour shortage in the local market in many different sectors. The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), established by Human Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), enables employers to hire foreign workers to work in Canada.  According to the labor law, the offer wages paid to temporary foreign workers need to be equal to or higher than the current wage rate paid to Canadians in the same occupation.

Today, hundreds and thousands of migrant workers from the Philippines, Ireland, Mexico, Jamaica, Ukraine, Thailand and other countries have come to work and live in Canada utilizing the TFWP.   After working here for a year, many people also apply to live and work permanently in Canada through the provincial nominee and federal immigration program.

Stages for planning to Work in Canada

English Language Study

English proficiency is one of the important requirements for those who want to work and immigrate to Canada. Therefore, many people from the Philippines, Ireland, Jamaica, and India have come to work and immigrate  in Canada due to the fact that they are able to speak, write and understand English in their workplaces and Canadian society at large.

In our language centre, we use qualified, experience teachers to teach intensive language courses to help those workers who want to work in Canada to improve English in short period of time. The intensive course takes about four  months. The curriculum covers basic and advanced reading, writing and conversation, general terminology and professional language used in a particular profession ( For example: for those who plan to work in construction field, we will teach the terminology used in construction) and grammar. The students will greatly improve in their language skills after doing intensive study with us, and thus better enhance their chances to work in Canada.

There are hundreds and thousands of Thai people working in Taiwan, Israel, Kuwait, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and many Middle Eastern countries. However, few Thais come to work or immigrate to this beautiful country due to their inability to meet the language requirement.

For this reason, iCan strongly encourages those who would like to work and live in Canada to improve their English proficiency to the level that they can pass interview by the employer. The worker has the options of studying English at a language school of their choice or doing intensive language study at our learning centre.
